World’s tallest tower – Tokyo Sky Tree

The world’s tallest tower, Tokyo Sky tree finally opened its door for bussiness on 22-May 2012. Forget about heading to the tower, if you haven’t got your ticket. Tickets were fully sold out and aren’t available, not until 11-July.

A little bit about the tickets :
Two months advance purchase through internet is possible from 11-Jul.
TOKYO SKYTREE TEMBO DECK tickets are priced at 2,500yen/adult.
Tickets are sold at 2,000yen (500yen cheaper) if purchased on actual day.

Building the world’s tallest tower on a land prone to earthquakes, is a task too challenging. However Japanese engineers are confident that Sky Tree won’t topple even with strong earthquakes. Of course this points to the high earthquake proof architectural technology, that Japanese designed buildings are famous for.

Sky Tree was already put to test through the Tōhoku earthquake that happened last year. At that time, Tokyo recorded a very strong quake of about 6th degree on the seismic scale and Tokyo Sky Tree amazingly survived without even the slightest damage to its structure.

Japanese pop culture / kyarypamyupamyu

Model cum singer, “kyarypamyupamyu” looks set to become the next J-pop big star.
As a popular Japanese singer, she drew much attention because of her unique fashion style, interesting choreography that follows her music and phrases lyrics that leave deep impressions.

Her promotion videos “PON PON PON”, “Tsukema Tsukeru” and “CANDY CANDY” on YouTube draw a total of 50 million views, worldwide.

Pay attention to her head on this album in the photo. She has a shark sitting on top of her head!! o(*’o'*)o In some ways, her flamboyant fashion reminds me of “Lady Ga Ga”. Perhaps this has been the reason for her being so well-received overseas.

Take a look at her promotion music video for “PON PON PON”.
The music rhythm lingers and leave quite a deep impression, IMAO.

Single womens fantasy: If I have a boyfriend…

words from lonely unattached women

In one of the famous bulletin board, the topic “What do expect or hope from your someone” got perked up among single females who contributed their fancies. Those who are attached might question the thinking because they all seemed too ordinary. But to those singles, what sound ordinary are even far out of their reach.

I picked up a few which I thought sounded interesting.
Those in pink are my added comment.

  1. I want him to get jealous over me (moderately). (Kinda of cute fantasy.)
  2. I want him to restrict me (moderately). (Hey, I could understand this feeling!)
  3. Without any words, he hugs me when I am feeling down and pats my head to console me. (Trust me, if I can I want to give you my strength too!)
  4. Being just together is enough for me. (This is just too realistic. Too sad…)
  5. He hugs me tightly from the back during sleeping.(Wow! Romantic!)
  6. Part 1: Go picnic together at a park with an open space lawn.(Pretty normal activity.)
Part 2: Eat my prepared handmade Bento for lunch.
And he says to me like: “Wow! This is damn delicious. I am so happy. Thank you”. I imagine the way he will look, so cute, absorbed in the food. It is enough to fill my stomach. (Silly girl. Love can’t fill your stomach!)
  7. Even with lack of topics, I am satisfied with simple conversations like “This is delicious!”, “Hey, What’s this?”. Yet I am not even granted such chances. Why do I exist just as a female of human species? (This is just too heart-rending. For goodness sake, please let her wish be granted at least once.)
  8. I want to smell his ordor. I imagine he wears a T-shirt and I smell him from behind, his back. (Urmm… isn’t this plain pervert…)

Japan brand UNIQLO

UNIQLO is well-known for clothing with good clothing at affordable prices. Perhaps the most famous representative revolutionary products were “heatec” and “coolbiz”.

Though UNIQLO is expanding worldwide, still, some items are only limited for sale in Japan. I picked up some interesting T-shirts. These are the collaboration works between UNIQLO and famous Japanese food companies having very long history.

UNIQLO & Okame Natto. In short, Natto, fermented soybean, is a traditional food for breakfast. You either love or hate them because of the smell.
The character Okame, with her nostalgic face has been the representative logo of Okame Natto . Doesn’t she look cute?

Okame Natto (familiar among Japanese)

Kuidaore Taro, is a famous mascot character from Osaka. Being the star of a restaurant, he became well-known only after retirement. He makes occasional appearance on TV. Sounds crazy, but the last time he went travelling, it even made news on TV!

Even “Yotsuba”, a Hokkaido butter company, joined forces with UNIQLO! The butter in the picture “with salt” version. Why don’t they make the one with “No salt” version??

“Tengumai” is Japan’s sake manufacturing company. Good choice with the logo. It looks cool and very traditional. Too bad, I don’t drink, so I won’t have a chance to know how they taste.

Ok, that’s about all. Do inquire with us if you want any UNIQLO items that are only limited for sale in Japan. We buy and send them overseas.

Sweet & casual fashion coordination

For a change, turn flirtatious this summer with this sweet casual coordination style, picked up from Vivi’s “ARISA’s Fashion” corner.

If lace or bustier alone is too bold for your liking, layered the two like what the picture did. The combination is interesting and looks very modern.
Vivi teamed the bottom up with a simple stripe flare skirt for the extremely sweet next door girl look. Socks are equally important too. Wear them over pumps and the hair band adds a dash of wild look.
“Kawaii”! And that’s the favorite word of the Japanese used to describe anything that looks lovely.

Please inquire through the below button for more details about this coordination.

1. Washed denim bustier top (Phebely)

Price:
4,500yen

2. Lace leotard (American Apparel)

Price:

3. Stripe flare skirt (WEGO)

Price:
2,990yen

4. Head band (American Apparel) & lame socks (MIIA)

Momoe Yamaguchi vs Ueto Aya

Momoe Yamaguchi, a Japanese actress and singer who reigned the 70s. Nicknamed as the “cool beauty” by the Japanese, she quitted showbiz at the height of her popularity and had disappeared from the entertainment scene since. She was 21 years old then and to this day remained a pop icon.

To quit at the height of your career might not necessary be a bad choice. She could be smiling her way knowing that after all these 30 years, her songs are still favorites in mimic programs and TV here sometimes play footage of her days as singer.

Everything about her is just a mystery as she remains a legend in the heart of many Japanese.

Japanese beauty / Momoe Yamaguchi in the 70s

To some extend, I somehow feel that Aya Ueto (another popular actress, singer in Japan) resembles Momoe Yamaguchi. Ueto is nowhere the “cool beauty” of Momoe, in fact the very contrary. She is very lively, chirpy and has a very energetic feel. Why I feel that they look alike is another mystery myself.

Maybe some might disagreed about their resemblance. But both are no doubt the representative actresses of Japan, in different generations who win the hearts of many Japanese.
