Japan’s autumn nail trend (ViVi)

Wondering what is the trend for Japan’s autumn’s nail art?
These are some nail designs picked out from ViVi magazine.
ViVi grouped these nail designs into “Gothic Theme” & “British Theme”.

In Gothic theme, we see trend in cold pastel colors, gemstones & pearls embellished for the elegant or modern antique impression. For some fun, skulls wearing ribbons joined in the nails too.

In British theme, we see standard union jack, brilliant use of various kinds of plaid prints and the occasional use of tiny studs. British’s royal guards & royal crown, some symbols of Britain are not forgotten too.
Get a feel of UK without actually visiting it with these nails (@^_^@)b

These cute & interesting nail patterns are bound to brighten up lonely autumn ahead

Halloween’s makeup idea / kyarypamyupamyu

Model and singer kyarypamyupamyu’s has always drawn lots of attention for her unique and extreme personal style in fashion. Her hairstyles and makeup is always interesting in my opinion.

Since halloween is round the corner, I will pickup some of Kyary’s extreme fashion that might give you some ideas on halloween costumes and makeups. So be my guest if you run out of one, except they aren’t those creepy ones.

Makeup illustrating a big and crooked mouth. And the teeth… don’t they look like those from jaws?

Marukome / Miso soup dispenser

The MISO soup dispenser (*o*)/
The Japanese has a new dispenser to add to their list besides beverage dispenser machines.

Miso maker, “Marukome”, came up with the new type miso soup dispenser. The latest one is more of a mini version. “Small and stylish” is the concept which was designed with office use in mind.

And what’s more, it allows a generous four types of ingredient toppings!! Toppings containing collagen is expected to enjoy popularity with women and the one containing corbicula will be the popular choice for men.

Japanese’s love for MISO soup is understandable. Lunch set that comes with rice and miso soup is Japanese food culture. Sipping a bowl of hot miso soup during the cold winter is another “tasty” experience, I would say (^_-)

Doesn’t it sound cool to own a dispenser? And the price of miso dispenser is reasonably cool too! You get to bring this home for just 3,480yen (machine only).

Netizens agreed that the dispenser is cheap, but there are voices that the maintenance is going to be a tough one (^^;;)

Toilet Bike Neo – TOTO’s funny invention

Japanese toilet maker, has developed the world’s first motorcycle, “Toilet Bike Neo” that runs on waste as fuel.

Toilet bike Neo has the capability to cover a distance of 300km when full tank and it runs at a maximum speed of 80km/hr, if you are wondering if it lives up to the function of a motorcycle.
And the rider gets to have his private toilet seat throughout the whole journey. (^_-)

Good! Just when I am thinking that this will be extremely useful to the rider’s in one of their long roadtrips…

Actually, Toilet Bike Neo runs on bio-gas fuel from the waste of livestock and household waste water. It does not have the mechanism to run on human’s excrement. This bike is a tool for promoting eco-friendly environment awareness.

It is now going around Japan and is making a current stop at Hokkaido’s sapporo station.

TOTO has no plan to manufacture toilet bike, but it will be interesting if we ever see this in the market.

The bike even has a roll of huge toilet paper at the back (^-^)

Female rider looks cool on the bike too!

Famous anime hero & Hello Kitty postage stamps

Now, Hello kitty makes her appearance in postage stamps (*o*)!!
For the past few summers (this year too), Hello Kitty and her childhood friend, “Dear Daniel” became regular team members of “greeting stamps” released by Japan post. “Greeting stamps” are to meant to promote the exchange of letters, postcards during summers.

Kitty is so popular in Japan that she has become part of the daily life, appearing in electronic goods, utensils, accessories, etc.

Sorry for this delayed post, but “Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel” postage stamps might not be available since it is already past summer (*_ _)

Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel postage stamps in Japan

I couldn’t believe my luck that one of the Hello Kitty stamps turned up at my postbox.
The hair salon that I visited for the first time last week, sent a greeting card with the cute Kitty stamp affixed and that was how I got it!

But popular characters aren’t the only ones showing up on stamps.
Hero & heroine of famous Japanese anime are getting a place too, taking turns to show up in special edition postage stamps.

Postage stamps featuring anime “Rascal the Raccoon”, will be released this October.
And Wow! Looking at the stamps alone brought back wonderful recollections of the anime.
It choked me with emotions how these stamps have resurrected a 35 years old anime (T.T)

Over the years, Japan has produced many old yet meaningful and excellent anime that touched many hearts. And it is a wonderful idea that memories of such beautiful, famous works could be recap once again through the use of stamps in my opinion.

Japanese artist’s goldfish art

These are not real goldfishes. And neither are they paintings.

They are some works of famous artist Riusuke Fukahori who uses layers of resin to create three-dimensional effect sculptures. Riusuke Fukahori has pursued to create the lifelike 3D goldfish by painting on layers of resins.
Such technique is unprecedented in arts.

His works are simply stunning. The goldfishes look so breathtakingly real and beautiful and so full of life, as if they are swimming peacefully inside the containers.
Each work is a long process as time is needed for each layer of resin to harden before continuing.

The below picture links to the site of Mr. Riusuke Fukahori if you want to know more about the works. The site is in Japanese language only.

If you want to get one of his works, they will only be sold on his exhibition gallery. Its too bad, because there seems to be quite a number of inquires from Japan and even overseas…

Hatsune Miku & Hello Kitty in Japan’s convenience store

Fans of popular virtual idol “Hatsune Miku”, will be glad to know that they could get a “taste” of her in the real world (@o@)/~

“FamilyMart”, a convenience store in Japan, collaborated to produce “Hachune Miku meat bun”. It had started appearing on the steamer of FamilyMart since 14th-Aug.
For a limited period only, FamilyMart targets to sell 80 thousand buns at 180yen each.

“Hachune Miku meat bun” could “unaccountably” be the most delicious meat bun that Hatsune Miku lovers will ever have (^_-)v .

Rival “Circle K Sunkus”, another convenience store in Japan is joining the battle to show it is not intimidated by this o(*-*)o

It collaborated with Sanrio to produce “Hello Kitty meat bun”, which will start selling from this coming 16th October.

“Circle K Sunkus” seems determined to win this one because “Hello Kitty meat bun” each at 150yen is 30yen cheaper than “Hachune Miku meat bun” (- – ;;)!!
And what’s more,,, it targets to sell 150 thousand meat buns for a one month limited period.

Trust me. “Hello kitty meat bun” is going to be snatched up like crazy.

Not trying to sound cold-hearted, but consumers are the ones who benefit most from such rivalry. Its so amazing to be able to eat such cute meat buns in Japan (^-^)v

Color contact lens

Color contact lens has become part of the fashion boom here.
Ever wish you have large eyes? Or you yearn for eye colors like barbie dolls or your favorite manga characters? Color contact lens does the trick. You will have to pick the right one of course.

Actually, I am totally ignorant where color contact lens are concern.
Let’s say I gave up because the varieties are just too amazingly wide that I ain’t sure what I want or where I should begin from w(~0~)w

There is a saying that “Eyes are the windows to the soul”.
Looks like, we might need the help of colored contact lens to “create” our very own ideal version pair of eyes (*^.-)

Japan’s mister donut

In my opinion, one of the must try if you are in Japan is “Mister Donut”.

Why donut? What’s so special?
Take a look at the donut menu. Doesn’t it convince you that you should give them a try? Hey, they really are as delicious as they looked.

Japan’s Mister Donut group has went through a lot of trouble to ensure their donuts stay competitive in Japan. Not only do the donuts come in all sorts of interesting shapes, the varieties are great and texture is something that you can really enjoy because each type is unique in their own way .And without saying,,, affordable price is what attracts too.

My favorite will be the regular, very popular “Pon de Ring”.
I just can’t get enough with the soft chewy texture. (@^-^@)

How great it would be if calories is the last thing on my mind…(x_x;)
